ST. PAULI PREVIEW: CONSECUTIVE DEFEATS STUNT PROGRESS
St. Pauli had hoped their first Bundesliga victory since promotion away to high-flying Freiburg would trigger the beginning of a rise up the table. Instead, it’s been a case of one step forward and two steps back for the 2. Bundesliga champions following back-to-back losses against Mainz and Borussia Dortmund respectively.
WOLFSBURG PREVIEW: VISITORS LOOKING OVER THEIR SHOULDER
Wolfsburg now need to be very careful about the chasing pack down the bottom of the table, who could end up dragging them into trouble. St Pauli for example, would draw level on points with the visitors if they won here, with Wolfsburg having tasted victory just once across their last five games in the Bundesliga.
ST. PAULI TEAM NEWS: SAAD AND METCALFE KEY LOSSES FOR HOSTS
Attacking wideman Elias Saad and Australian international Connor Metcalfe are both unavailable here for St. Pauli due to ankle and groin injuries respectively, which is a big blow for the home side.

WOLFSBURG TEAM NEWS: SUSPENSIONS ADD TO WOLFSBURG WOES
Maximilian Arnold and Patrick Wimmer both being suspended adds another wrench in Wolfsburg’s plans, which they can ill-afford when taking into account the huge injury list they currently have to contend with.

ST. PAULI VS WOLFSBURG PREDICTION
It’s been a struggle for both of these teams recently and confidence may well be low among both camps. Losing would be a huge blow for either side and when taking into account the lack of quality within the two squads that we’ve seen this season, you’d expect a low-scoring game. Backing under 2.5 goals may well prove to be the smart play.
ST. PAULI VS WOLFSBURG TIP: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
