THE PREDICTION
Mainz come into this one on the back of a slender 2-1 defeat away to seeming champions-elect Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena, last weekend. That loss keeps them tucked in the bottom two and the automatic relegation places ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures. They now face a Borussia Monchengladbach side that, under the management of former Bayer Leverkusen and Young Boys boss Gerardo Seoane, have been inconsistent throughout the campaign as they sit in the bottom-half of the table. They have been very entertaining, though, with their 23 matches consisting of 86 goals thus far. Mainz will need to attack their opposition as they fight the drop and given the visitors’ high-scoring theme throughout this year, both teams scoring looks a good bet for this one.
