HOLSTEIN KIEL PREVIEW: NEWLY PROMOTED SIDE THE LAST TO GET OFF ZERO POINTS

It took until their fourth match of the season for Holstein Kiel to pick up their first Bundesliga point of the campaign since being promoted back to the top flight of German football. It was an entertaining point as well following a 2-2 draw away at Bochum, in which Holstein led and then trailed before equalising late on.

An 89th minute leveller at least ensured Holstein came out of that game the happier, especially with it being away from home. Key for them now is to build on that with another positive result here, although it won’t be easy.

EINTRACHT FRANKFURT PREVIEW: FRANKFURT REMAIN HOT AFTER THIRD WIN

Eintracht Frankfurt have been one of the most impressive teams so far in 2024-25 after four rounds of Bundesliga fixtures. Since losing away at Borussia Dortmund on the opening weekend, Dino Toppmoller’s side have won their last three league games, scoring at least two goals on each occasion.

This past week saw them contest a thrilling 3-3 draw in the Europa League against Viktoria Plzen. After leading 3-1, Eintracht conceded twice in the final five minutes to throw away victory, so expect them to try and take their frustrations out on Holstein.

HOLSTEIN KIEL TEAM NEWS: BERNHARDSSON DOUBTFUL, KLEINE-BECKEL OUT

Holstein Kiel are without centre-back Colin Kleine-Beckel with a knee injury and could also be missing Swedish forward Alexander Bernhardsson, who is currently nursing a thigh problem.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-3): Weiner; Becker, Erras, Johansson; Porath, Knudsen, Holtby, Puchacz; Gigovic, Pichler, Kelati

UNAVAILABLE: Kleine-Beckel (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Bernhardsson (Injured)

EINTRACHT FRANKFURT TEAM NEWS: TRAPP STILL MISSING IN GOAL

Eintracht Frankfurt will continue with Brazilian Kaua Santos in goal with first-choice and captain Kevin Trapp still out injured. Hojlund is also missing, whilst illness could sideline attacking midfielder Mario Gotze.

PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Santos; Kristensen, Tuta, Koch, Theate; Knauff, Shkiri, Larsson, Nkounkou; Ekitike, Marmoush

UNAVAILABLE: Hojlund (Injured), Trapp (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Gotze (Illness)

HOLSTEIN KIEL VS EINTRACHT FRANKFURT PREDICTION

Holstein Kiel may have their first point on the board this season, but Eintracht Frankfurt in the form they are in pose a huge challenge for the hosts. With three wins on the bounce, their players are riding the crest of a wave and momentum can prove a powerful tool for a football club. With the ability of those at Eintracht’s disposal, they should do enough to pick up victory in this one.
