THE PREDICTION
It could not have been a worse start for Hertha Berlin last weekend, their optimism regarding the new campaign taking a major hit after they were comfortably beaten 3-1 by inter-city rivals Union Berlin. Such a defeat must have had a hugely negative effect on morale inside the dressing room and Eintracht Frankfurt will be hoping to take full advantage. The reigning Europa League winners were battered 1-6 by Bayern Munich last Friday and are coming off the back of defeat in the UEFA Super Cup at the hands of Champions League holders Real Madrid. However, Hertha represents far more manageable opposition than those two and Eintracht will be confident of gaining three points. A question mark remains though over the physical condition of Oliver Glasner’s side following an intense midweek fixture such as the Super Cup and it could be the case that tiredness starts to set in for the visitors the longer this contest goes on. Therefore, it would be sensible not just to back Eintracht Frankfurt to win this game, but also back them to draw via utilising the double chance market.
