HEIDENHEIM PREVIEW: PROFESSIONAL AWAY PERFORMANCE SEES OFF MAINZ

Following consecutive Bundesliga defeats, it was crucial that Heidenheim got back to winning ways last weekend, which they did in impressive fashion. They travelled to Mainz and saw off the hosts in solid fashion, beating them by two goals to nil, scoring in both halves and not letting their opponents gain any momentum.

Since then, Heidenheim have been on the winning side once more, this time in the Europa Conference League, overcoming Olimpija 2-1 at home. Victory here would make it three wins in the space of just over a week.

RB LEIPZIG PREVIEW: BACK TO BUNDESLIGA ACTION AFTER CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FRUSTRATION

RB Leipzig blew a golden opportunity to get three points on the board in their Champions League campaign, losing 2-3 against Juventus despite playing against ten men for the majority of the second half. Twice Marco Rose’s side took the lead and twice they blew it, leaving them on zero points after two round of league phase fixtures.

A Benjamin Sesko double at least underlined the Slovenian’s goalscoring threat and he’ll more than likely have a big part to play in this game as well. RB Leipzig have won just one of their last five in all competitions, so the stakes are high

HEIDENHEIM TEAM NEWS: DORSCH OUT THROUGH SUSPENSION

Frank Schimdt must wait for news regarding the fitness of Honsak and Kaufmann, both of whom are nursing injuries. Dorsch is suspended, whilst a knee injury keeps Niehues out.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Muller; Busch, Mainka, Gimber, Fohrenbach; Schoppner, Maloney; Traore, Wanner, Scienza; Pieringer

UNAVAILABLE: Dorsch (Suspended), Niehues (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Honsak (Injured), Kaufmann (Injured)

RB LEIPZIG TEAM NEWS: KAMPL JOINS SCHLAGER ON SIDELINES

RB Leipzig are missing two potential starting midfielders in Kevin Kampl and Xavi Schlager, so expect Antonio Nusa to start for the visitors. Sesko and Openda should continue as the strike partnership.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-2-2): Gulacsi; Henrichs, Orban, Lukeba, Raum; Baumgartner, Haidara; Nusa, Simons; Sesko, Openda

UNAVAILABLE: Kampl (Injured), Ouedraogo (Injured), Schlager (Injured)

HEIDENHEIM VS RB LEIPZIG PREDICTION

Heidenheim may well see RB Leipzig as vulnerable opposition and there for the taking, especially when factoring in how poor they looked defensively in midweek. However, you can never write off Marco Rose’s men as the quality of their starting XI remains strong and with Sesko in attack, goals are never far away. Regardless of who comes out on top, backing both teams to score has to be favoured.
