EINTRACHT FRANKFURT PREVIEW: SIXTH-PLACE THE REWARD FOR EINTRACHT AVOIDING DEFEAT

Eintracht Frankfurt know the equation going into the final round of Bundesliga fixtures. Either victory or a draw for Dino Toppmoller’s men will see them end the season in sixth-place, an extremely positive outcome in Toppmoller’s first campaign as head coach. Lose however, and they could drop down into seventh.

The worry for Eintracht is that they are limping over the line at present. The hosts have picked up just one point from the last nine available to them, losing both Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, although they did at least arrest that small streak of defeats last time out, drawing away at Borussia Monchengladbach.

RB LEIPZIG PREVIEW: MARCO ROSE’S MEN GUARANTEED FOURTH-PLACED WHATEVER HAPPENS HERE

RB Leipzig are looking towards next season with them already knowing their fate when it comes to the final table. Finishing inside the Champions League places was the minimum expectation for this club and they’ll be happy to get that done, but Marco Rose will no doubt be frustrated at his side not being able to challenge for the title.

Despite this, performance levels haven’t dipped considerably over the past couple of months. The visitors are unbeaten across their last ten games in the Bundesliga, although their last two have ended in 1-1 draws against Hoffenheim and Werder Bremen respectively. The latter was a particular disappointment with Leipzig being at home.

EINTRACHT FRANKFURT TEAM NEWS: 3-4-3 LIKELY FOR EINTRACHT ON THE FINAL DAY

Although Eintracht Frankfurt are expected to deploy their favoured 3-4-3 formation, Omar Marmoush and Hugo Ekitike are both likely to start for the hosts. Collins, Kalajdzic and Van de Beek are all missing through injury.

Nils Nkounkou may have to settle for a place on the bench in a 3-4-3, with Ansgar Knauff possibly a better fit on the left-hand-side and Dina Ebimbe on the opposite flank. Mario Gotze again could be deployed deep in a central midfield role.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-3): Trapp; Tuta, Koch, Pacho; Dina Ebimbe, Gotze, Skhiri, Knauff; Marmoush, Ekitike, Chaibi

UNAVAILABLE: Collins (Injured), Kalajdzic (Injured), Van de Beek (Injured)

RB LEIPZIG TEAM NEWS: SEIWALD EXPECTED TO PLAY IN SCHLAGER’S ABSENCE

Xavi Schlager’s knee injury keeps him out of action in his side’s final match of the season and with that in mind, expected Nicolas Seiwald to team up with Amadou Haidara in central midfield with Xavi Simons and Dani Olmo in front of them.

Having said that, Olmo himself is doubtful with a muscle problem, which could open the door for Kevin Kampl or Christoph Baumgartner to start, whilst Benjamin Sesko and Lois Openda are expected to play ahead of Yussuf Poulsen.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-2-2): Gulacsi; Simakan, Orban, Lukeba, Raum; Haidara, Seiwald; Olmo, Simons; Openda, Sesko

UNAVAILABLE: Schlager (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Olmo (Injured)

EINTRACHT FRANKFURT VS RB LEIPZIG PREDICTION

The recent struggles of Eintracht Frankfurt suggest that RB Leipzig may be able to take advantage and end the season undefeated across their last 11 Bundesliga fixtures. The visitors are playing with little pressure on their shoulders and this only enhances their danger from an Eintracht point of view. It will be difficult for the hosts to come back should they conceded first and the shrewd move is to utilise the draw no bet market for extra security and back RB Leipzig to come out on top.
