Borussia Dortmund proved too strong for Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend, but Dino Toppmoller’s side will likely see Hoffenheim at home as an imminently more winnable fixture.

EINTRACHT FRANKFURT PREVIEW: SUPERIORITY EVENTUALLY TOLD IN DORTMUND

Two goals inside the final 20 minutes did for Eintracht Frankfurt at Signal Iduna Park as Borussia Dortmund’s quality eventually shone through. Eintracht fought hard to their credit but as their players tired, they ultimately couldn’t hang on and were finished off deep into second half stoppage time.

Back on home territory, they will expect more dominance and potentially a more ruthless edge going forward, especially against an open, but dangerous opposition in Hoffenheim. However, they may have to cope without Omar Marmoush, who is the subject of intense transfer speculation on deadline day.

HOFFENHEIM PREVIEW: THRILLING START FOR BUNDESLIGA ENTERTAINERS

Hoffenheim can be known for their ability to excite and whilst defensively they may not be the strongest, that is evened out by a very strong attack that boasts proven goalscorers at this level. None more so than Andrej Kramaric, who netted a sensational hat-trick in a 3-2 triumph over Holstein Kiel, giving his side three points to start the new campaign.

Pellegrino Matarazzo will have been delighted to see his Hoffenheim team rack up 21 shots against the newly promoted club, including eight on target. Goals shouldn’t be an issue for them across the season if they maintain such high levels of offensive output.

EINTRACHT FRANKFURT TEAM NEWS: MARMOUSH TO MISS OUT…IF HE STAYS

Even if Marmoush is to remain at Frankfurt, the attacker may well end up having to settle for a place on the bench rather than the starting line-up. Hugo Ekitike should lead the line with Uzun, Gotze and Chaibi in behind.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Trapp; Kristensen, Tuta, Koch, Theate; Skhiri, Larsson; Uzun, Gotze, Chaibi; Ekitike

UNAVAILABLE: Hojlund (Injured), Loune (Injured)

HOFFENHEIM TEAM NEWS: VISITORS STILL WITHOUT SEVERAL NAMES

Hoffenheim still have to make do without the likes of Kabak, Jurasek, Bebou and Becker to name just a few, but that doesn’t blunt their offensive quality with Hlozek, Kramaric and Bulter a hugely exciting attacking trio.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-3): Baumann; Akpoguma, Stach, Drexler; Kaderabek, Geiger, Grillitsch, Prass; Hlozek, Kramaric, Bulter

UNAVAILABLE: Bebou (Injured), Becker (Injured), Bischof (Injured), Jurasek (Injured), John (Injured), Kabak (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Tohumcu (Injured)

EINTRACHT FRANKFURT VS HOFFENHEIM PREDICTION

The contest has all the makings of being a cracker. With home advantage in their favour and without a point to their name, the pressure is on Eintracht Frankfurt to really attack by pushing bodies forward and attempting to carve out clear-cut opportunities against a backline that conceded twice last weekend.

On the flip-side, Hoffenheim have shown what they can do in front of goal. With the likes of Kramaric and a head coach like Matarazzo, they won’t be afraid to meet fire with fire. Expect goals between these two clubs, as well as both teams finding the net.

EINTRACHT FRANKFURT VS HOFFENHEIM TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE AND OVER 2.5 GOALS
