THE PREDICTION

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich face a stern opening test against Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt, whose squad is likely still riding the momentum from that famous night in Seville. The hosts are further boosted by new signings which include former Bayern midfielder Mario Gotze, who would love no more than to prove a point to his old club here at Deutsche Bank Park. However, Bayern are still a formidable outfit even without Robert Lewandowski, as they showed in the recent German Super Cup which saw them beat RB Leipzig 3-5 away from home. With Sadio Mane expected to make his Bundesliga debut, Julian Nagelsmann’s side are likely to be as formidable going forward as you would expect. With that in mind, Bayern are well worth backing to pick up three points here. Although it may turn out a shrewd play to also back both teams to score when taking into account the defensive frailties shown by Bayern at Leipzig.
