BOCHUM PREVIEW: ONE GOAL SCORED SO FAR THIS SEASON TELLS THE STORY
Bochum’s inability to find the net on a regular basis and proving to be their kryptonite so far in the 2024-25 campaign and they need to find a way to change that against the leakiest defence in the Bundesliga. Already three points adrift of 15th-place, pressure is starting to build on Bochum and head coach Peter Zeidler.
They were narrowly beaten 1-0 by ten-man RB Leipzig on the opening weekend of the season, before losing 0-2 at home to Borussia Monchengladbach. Their latest defeat came at the hands of Freiburg, a Junior Adamu brace condemning them to a 2-1 loss.
HOLSTEIN KIEL PREVIEW: NEWLY PROMOTED SIDE CAN’T STOP LEAKING GOALS
Holstein Kiel sit rock bottom of the Bundesliga due to their diabolical goal difference. They’ve already conceded 11 league goals this season, an average of over three goals per game, so it’s no surprise that they’ve failed to pick up a single point thus far.
After defeats against both Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg, Holstein Kiel were thrashed by Bayern Munich last time, losing 1-6 to Vincent Kompany’s side, who tore them apart from an attacking perspective.
BOCHUM TEAM NEWS: PASSLACK OVER GAMBOA ON THE RIGHT, THREE OUT INJURED
Bochum won’t be able to call upon three players for the visit of Holstein Kiel with Bernardo, Ordets and new signing Koji Miyoshi all out injured. Meanwhile, Felix Passlack should get the nod over Cristian Gamboa at right back.
PREDICTED XI (4-3-1-2): Drewes; Passlack, Medic, Masovic, Wittek; De Wit, Sissoko, Bero; Daschner; Broschinski, Boadu
UNAVAILABLE: Bernardo (Injured), Miyoshi (Injured), Ordets (Injured)

BOCHUM VS HOLSTEIN KIEL PREDICTION
These two teams come into this encounter desperately low on confidence and both Bochum and Holstein Kiel well aware as to the ramifications that defeat would bring here. With that in mind, it would be no surprise if this turned out to be a turgid affair as each prioritises defensive stability ahead of pushing too many bodies forward and getting caught at the other end of the pitch.
The worry is that neither will have the quality to ultimately get the better of their opponents and they could end up cancelling each other out. So, backing the draw may well prove to be the shrewd move on this occasion.
