BAYERN MUNICH PREVIEW: GNABRY WINNER BAGS CRUCIAL THREE POINTS
After Jamal Musiala gave them the lead, many would’ve expected to Bayern Munich to run away with it against Wolfsburg. Alas, that turned out not to be the case as the home side roared back in the second half, levelling before going ahead through Lovro Majer. But there was a sting in the tale as an own goal drew Bayern level before they won it late on through Serge Gnabry.
Clearly Vincent Kompany has plenty to work on. But for Bayern Munich all that matters is winning, no matter how they do it. To get that first three points was crucial and kept any critics of his appointment as head coach quiet for another week at least.
FREIBURG PREVIEW: LIFE POST-STREICH STARTS WELL FOR FREIBURG
Lots of eyes have been on Julian Schuster, the man tasked to lead Freiburg into a new era without long-serving head coach Christian Streich and as it stands, he’s started in the best possible way. Victory in the DFB-Pokal first round was backed up by an impressive 3-1 win vs Stuttgart in Freiburg’s first Bundesliga match of the new campaign.
Most impressive was how Schuster’s side never panicked after conceding in just the second minute. Lukas Kubler levelled after 26 minutes before an excellent second half performance saw Freiburg overwhelm last season’s second-place finishers. A Ritsu Doan goal was followed up by a second from Kubler as the hosts triumphed 3-1.

BAYERN MUNICH VS FREIBURG PREDICTION
To come from behind against Wolfsburg and win was very important for Bayern Munich. To show a high level of resilience and remind the rest of the Bundesliga that they are still an utterly formidable group of players despite last season’s failure and a head coach perhaps still adjusting to life at his new club.
Freiburg have already shown this season that they are going to be a strong outfit, particularly from an offensive point of view. It would be no surprise to see them get on the scoresheet here. But the strength-in-depth and all-round quality of Bayern Munich should win out in the end.
