THE PREDICTION

The home team come into this on the back of a 5-1 thumping at the hands of a very impressive Bayer Leverkusen a couple of weeks ago. Augsburg have won just one of their last eight matches since they defeated the reigning champions and top-of-the-table Bayern Munich in mid-November. That poor run of form has seen them drop into the relegation playoff places before this weekend’s round of fixtures. They now come up against an Union Berlin that have, once again, surpassed expectations. They have managed to balance their domestic and European commitments well this season and head into the second-half of the campaign still in Europe and, after three wins in their last four extending their unbeaten run to six matches in all competitions, sit inside the top four. A double chance bet in favour of the away team looks the way to go for this one.
