TOULOUSE PREVIEW: TOULOUSE GOT A WIN

Spanish coach Carlos Martinez Novell remains in charge of a Toulouse side that significantly underperformed at the start of this season. They had managed just one win in their opening eight matches and there was a lot of pressure growing on the coach as they try to find some rhythm and consistency.

Toulouse come into this one on the back of a much-needed hammering of bottom-of-the-table Montpellier Herault in their most recent outing, last weekend, with a brace scored by Zakaria Aboukhlal and then one notched by former Watford striker Josh King. That came after a 1-1 draw against Angers at Stadium de Toulouse.

REIMS PREVIEW: REIMS NEED RESPONSE

Last season, Stade de Reims spent quite a lot of money, in excess of £60 million, but they couldn’t find enough consistency and eventually faded away from the top six and the European spots to the middle-of-the-table. That led to the departure of Will Still with the eventual appointment of Luka Elsner.

The Slovenian coach, who had most recently overperformed with Le Havre in each of the last two seasons, had enjoyed a very bright start to the campaign but the visitors now come into this one on the back of back-to-back losses against newly-promoted Auxerre and then against Stade Brest.

TOULOUSE TEAM NEWS: NO NICOLAISEN

The home team come into this weekend’s clash with Reims with no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues so they will be able to name an unchanged eleven for this weekend.

They do have one injury concern for this weekend’s clash at Stadium de Toulouse. Defender Rasmus Nicolaisen remains unavailable with an ankle injury.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-3): Restes; Sidibe, Cresswell, McKenzie; Kamanzi, Cristian Casseres Jr, Sierro, Donnum; Aboukhlal, King, Gboho

UNAVAILABLE: Nicolaisen (Injured)

Stade de Reims are dealing with a couple of suspensions for this weekend’s clash with Toulouse as both Aurelio Buta and Marshall Munetsi are out for too many yellow cards.

As well as Buta and Munetsi, Reims have several injury concerns for this one including Abdoul Kone, Teddy Teuma, Mohamed Daramy and former Brighton man Reda Khadra.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Diouf; De Smet, Okumu, Agbadou, Sergio Akieme; Gabriel Moscardo, Atangana, Fofana; Ito, Diakite, Nakamura

TOULOUSE VS REIMS PREDICTION

Toulouse did get a much-needed win last time out but they remain in a genuinely terrible position down at the bottom end of the table with relegation a seemingly genuine threat in these early stages. They face a Reims side that have an abundance of attacking talent that need to get back on track and what better time to do that then against a Toulouse side potentially willing to see this as more of a free hit after their win last week.
