THE LOWDOWN
STRASBOURG
Coached by former Crystal Palace and Nice manager, Patrick Vieira, Strasbourg are beginning this weekend very much involved in the Ligue 1 relegation battle with just three victories in 14 matches so far this season and Vieira is coming under major pressure at the Alsace-club, following their major summer takeover.
The home team come into this one on the back of an underwhelming 1-1 draw with Stade Brest in their most recent outing, during the week. That result means that Strasbourg are now winless in their last eight matches since late-September with four draws in their last five Ligue 1 matches of late.
LE HAVRE
Following promotion to the top-flight for the first time in 15 years last season, Le Havre begin the 15th match day of the 2023/24 Ligue 1 campaign sitting firmly in the middle-of-the-table after a steady and more than reasonable beginning to the campaign. They do, though, come into this on the back of a defeat at home to defending champions and league leaders, Paris Saint-Germain.
That 2-0 loss at home last weekend, in which they faced ten men for 80 minutes or so, does mean their steady form of draws is beginning to affect them a little with just one victory in their last eight matches. There have been four goalless draws in that time and they have, remarkably, failed to score in seven of those eight games.

THE PREDICTION
Strasbourg are very much involved in a relegation battle and it could be the end of the line for Patrick Vieira in charge of the club. They have struggled for wins and goals throughout the season with just 12 scored in their 14 games so far. They now face a Le Havre side that have performed admirably well but have also struggled for goals but been capable of defending well. This one appears likely to be a tedious watch for the neutral.
