THE LOWDOWN
RENNES
Following the return of Julien Stephan to the dugout, replacing Bruno Genesio during the November international break, Stade Rennais have enjoyed an up-turn in their form. They qualified for Europe last season but struggled for victories with too many draws in the first part of this campaign.
They now, though, come into this one on the back of three successive Ligue 1 victories and five wins across all competitions. Their most recent outing saw them defeat struggling Lyon by three goals to two last weekend. That means they begin this match day sitting just seven points outside of the top seven and the European spots.
MONTPELLIER
It has been a difficult month for Montpellier Herault with the loss of several key players due to Africa Cup of Nations involvement and the loss of players such as Maxime Esteve in the transfer window. They have progressed into the Round of 16 of the Coupe de France with wins against Amiens and Feignies but have been unconvincing in Ligue 1.
They did manage to hold an impressive Lille side to a goalless draw, last weekend. That, whilst a generally respectable point, was frustrating with Lille down to ten men for the entirety of the second-half. It also means that they have now managed just one win in their last ten league matches, scoring just four goals in that time.

MONTPELLIER
Enzo Tchato has returned from AFCON due to Cameroon’s elimination but the likes of Kiki Kouyate and Falaye Sacko remain with Mali at the tournament.
PREDICTED XI (5-3-2): Lecomte; Hefti, Omeragic, Jullien, Esteve, Mincarelli; Nordin, Savanier, Chotard; Khazri, Adams

THE PREDICTION
On paper, these are two sides that are sitting in the middle-of-the-table in Ligue 1 and they are only separated by just six points but it actually appears quite one-sided. Given their form and their home advantage, Rennes are the firm favourites for this one on Saturday afternoon at Roazhan Park.
TIP: RENNES TO WIN
