THE LOWDOWN
REIMS
With exciting young coach Will Still, Stade de Reims are aiming to build on an impressive end to last season by finishing in the top six of the Ligue 1 table this season and earning European qualification. They have spent around £50 million this season but did lose Azor Matusiwa for around £15.5 million to Stade Rennais in the January transfer window.
Reims come into this one on the back of a fairly frustrating goalless draw for the hosts against a poor and out form Nantes side last weekend. Prior to that draw, though, they had enjoyed back-to-back victories either side of the Ligue 1 winter break. They edged past Le Havre before Christmas before returning with an impressive 3-1 victory over Monaco.
TOULOUSE
Toulouse have shown the difficulties of qualifying for European football ahead of schedule. The visitors only gained promotion to the top-flight in 2022 but won the Coupe de France last year. Now, though, with that added extra intensity, they are struggling to find any fluency or consistency in the league.
They have managed just three victories in 19 games so far this season as they sit just a point and a couple of places above Ligue 1’s bottom three. Toulouse come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat at home to Lens last weekend, meaning they have managed just one win in their 12 matches in Ligue 1.

THE PREDICTION
A frustration for Reims so far this season has been their inconsistency in the aftermath of fairly strong performances or runs of form. They are challenging in the top six ahead of this weekend but cannot necessarily always be trusted to put in a good showing. However, they are facing a Toulouse side that have significant absentees and are very much one of the weaker sides in the division. Reims, especially with their home advantage, should come out on top in this one.
