THE LOWDOWN
PSG
PSG earned the point they needed to secure the Ligue 1 title although it was not the result they will have wanted as they were held by Strasbourg. Having won their prior three matches, they would have fancied their chances of improving on that run but they failed to do so.
Lionel Messi combined with Kylain Mbappe with the Argentine giving PSG the lead just before the hour but a leveller with just 11 minutes remaining prevented them from claiming maximum points.
It did little to dampen the party and PSG will now look to celebrate properly in front of their own fans as well as righting their recent wrongs on home soil where they have won just two of their last five games.
CLERMONT
Clermont are one of the form teams in Ligue 1 and were able to make it just one loss in their last nine games as they claimed a 2-0 win over Lorient in their most recent encounter.
A strike just before half-time from Saif-Eddine Khaoui gave Clermont the lead before Maximiliano Caufriez’s effort 16 minutes from time confirmed the result.
Clermont are without a win in their last two on the road and they have been largely inconsistent in their away games this season but they will hold no fear ahead of this trip to end their campaign.
THE PREDICTION
PSG have been under some real pressure from Lens but they were able to secure the Ligue 1 title with a point against Strasbourg last week. They now take on Clermont in what will be Lionel Messi’s final game for the club and the visitors will be out to spoil the party. However, while they are capable of causing an upset, PSG are fancied to end the season on a high with them being able to celebrate their league success with a further three points.
TIP: PSG TO WIN
