THE LOWDOWN
NICE
Francesco Farioli tasted defeat for the first time as head coach of Nice last weekend as his Riviera club went down by a goal to nil away to Nantes, last weekend. The southerners have been exceptional, particularly defensively, so far this season but their lack of attacking thrust and effectiveness will be a major concern.
They remain tucked inside the top three ahead of this weekend but, quite remarkably, have managed to hit the net just 14 times in 14 games this season. Despite being second behind PSG at the top-of-the-table, only four teams have scored fewer than Nice and three of those four are currently down in the bottom four of the Ligue 1 table.
REIMS
In the last few days, speculation has grown around the potential future of Stade de Reims boss, Will Still, as he is being heavily linked with Championship side, Sunderland. Reims have enjoyed an impressive season so far but that is basically about par for them after fairly heaving spending during the summer transfer window, relative to Ligue 1 terms.
They do, though, begin the 15th match day in the impressive position of fifth and the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying spot. Their most recent outing saw them come through with a 2-1 win against Strasbourg, last weekend, which had followed back-to-back defeats against Paris Saint-Germain and Stade Rennais.
THE TEAM NEWS
NICE
Nice remain without the suspended Youcef Atal and they are also missing midfielder, Sofiane Diop, who is unavailable due to injury.
PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Bulka; Rosario, Todibo, Dante, Bard; Sanson, Ndayishimiye, Thuram; Moffi, Guessand, Boga
UNAVAILABLE: Atal (Suspended), Diop (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE:
REIMS
Stade de Reims have several injury issues for this weekend with the likes of Josh Wilson-Esbrand and Marshall Munetsi unavailable for the trip to Nice.
PREDICTED XI (3-1-4-2): Diouf; Agbadou, Okumu, Abdelhamid; Matusiwa; Busi, De Smet, Richardson, Teuma; Ito, Daramy
UNAVAILABLE: Munetsi (Injured), Wilson-Esbrand (Injured), Diakite (Injured)

THE PREDICTION
These are two teams punching above their relative weight this season but, having said that, both came into the campaign with fairly ambitious ideas. Nice had ambitions of returning to Europe but involving themselves in a title race appeared very unlikely. Reims, on the other hand, are slightly ahead of schedule but did spend big in the summer. Nice’s low-scoring tendencies are bound to eventually bring out an anomalous high-scoring result and up against a Reims side that are generally attacking, combined with Nice having to react after their first defeat, means this one could be quite entertaining.
BETTING TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
