NICE PREVIEW: FRUSTRATED NICE

Over the summer, with Nice’s ownership group INEOS turning their attention to Manchester United, the southerners managed to appoint Franck Haise which was a bit of a coup after his impressive performances at Lens. They appeared to be getting well run but begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting outside of the top seven.

The home team come into this one on the back of a slender but frustrating 1-0 defeat to Ferencvaros in Budapest in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League in midweek. That came after they returned from the October international break with a frustrating 1-1 draw against Nantes at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

MONACO PREVIEW: FOOT ON THE MONAGASQUE

Under the management of former Borussia Monchengladbach boss Adi Hutter, Monaco have been one of the most entertaining teams to watch in European football and they are looking to mount a serious and sustained title challenge as they sit just below Paris Saint-Germain on goal difference at the top-of-the-table ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures.

The principality club were held to a goalless draw by Lille at Stade Louis II last weekend but the Monagasque made it seven points from three UEFA Champions League games in midweek as they defeated Crvena Zvezda. That means Monaco are now unbeaten in their 11 matches across all competitions so far this season.

NICE TEAM NEWS: KEY ABSENTEES

42-year-old key player and Nice captain Dante is missing due to injury this weekend with a couple of key absentees in midfield, too, such as former Aston Villa man Morgan Sanson and former Tottenham Hotspur man Tanguy Ndombele.

PREDICTED XI (X-X-X-X): Bulka; Mendy, Moise Bombito, Abdelmonem; Clauss, Boudaoui, Rosario, Abdi; Guessand, Boga; Moukoko

UNAVAILABLE: Dante (Injured), Ndayishimiye (Injured), Sanson (Injured), Ndombele (Injured)

MONACO TEAM NEWS: DEFENSIVE ISSUES

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Majecki; Vanderson, Singo, Kehrer, Caio Henrique; Camara, Zakaria; Minamino, Golovin, Ben Seghir; Ilenikhena

NICE VS MONACO PREDICTION

This one has the potential to be a genuine thriller for the neutral this weekend. Nice are dealing with absentees and Franck Haise’s style of football has not quite taken full hold of his squad just yet as they continue to grow. Monaco, on the other hand, will sense an opportunity as they will be aware that PSG have to go to Marseille after this game concludes on Sunday. A fun game for the neutral in which Monaco come out on top would seem a good bet for this one.
