That was followed up with a 2-0 defeat of Angers in between a 3-2 aggregate defeat of Slavia Prague in the UEFA Champions League playoffs.

Luis Enrique named the youngest ever Ligue 1 eleven on the opening weekend of the season as Paris Saint-Germain managed the paradox of an unconvincing hammering of Le Havre at Stade Oceane. In that game, they were level at 1-1 with just over five of the 90 minutes to go before they turned on the style late on.
In their second game of the campaign, they welcomed a really poor Montpellier Herault side to the Parc des Princes and managed to dismantle Michel Der Zakarian’s side by six goals to nil in the capital. Bradley Barcola notched his second and third goals of the season with other strikes from Warren Zaire-Emery, Marco Asensio, Achraf Hakimi and Lee Kang-in.

This is a truly fascinating encounter in Lille this weekend. Lille were excellent under Paulo Fonseca last year at keeping clean sheets and they have kept back-to-back clean sheets at the start of this season, too. PSG found life difficult against Le Havre so there will be hope for Lille to get at the Parisiens but their performance against Montpellier will send warning signs that this is going to be another precession to the title. However, for this one, it is a tough test and both teams scoring seems a good bet, albeit PSG will be favourites against a Lille side that have had to strain in UEFA Champions League qualifying in August.
