THE LOWDOWN

LENS

Still coached by Franck Haise, Lens started this season very slowly after a difficult summer transfer window but they have returned to being one of the very best teams in the country since late-September. They, though, have once again regressed and come into this on the back of some poor form, once again.

The hosts come into this one on the back of a 2-1 loss to Olympique de Marseille at Stade Velodrome with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opening the scoring early on before Wesley Said equalised and then Samuel Gigot notched an 85th minute winner. That means Lens have now managed just one win in their last

LORIENT

Lorient come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat at home to Toulouse in their most recent outing at Stade du Moustoir – Yves Allainmat, last weekend. Julien Ponceau gave Lorient a 19th minute opener in that game before Toulouse turned it on its head with second-half strikes from Thijs Dallinga and Ibrahim Cissoko.

That means Lorient have now suffered five successive Ligue 1 losses with just one point collected in their last seven matches as they appear set to slump down to Ligue 2 under the management of Regis Le Bris. The visitors begin this weekend sitting firmly tucked inside the bottom two and the automatic relegation places.

LORIENT

There are a few key injury concerns for Lorient this weekend as Ayman Kari, Bamba Dieng and Quentin Boisgard are among those sidelined for the visitors.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Mvogo; Adjei, Talbi, Toure; Katseris, Abergel, Louza, Mendy; Bouanani, Ponceau; Bamba

THE PREDICTION

This one should really be a one-sided affair. Lens have been one of the better sides in French football for the last couple of years but even though they are sitting tucked up inside the top six, they have been in really underwhelming form of late. They face a Lorient side that have been dealing with off-field issues and protests throughout the campaign and it has majorly affected them on the pitch. Lens should really come out on top in this one, especially with their home advantage.

TIP: LENS TO WIN
