LE HAVRE PREVIEW: LOSING LE HAVRE

Over the summer, Le Havre lost manager Luka Elsner to Stade de Reims with the Slovenian choosing to replace Belgian-English coach Will Still. The home team opted to appoint former Middlesbrough midfielder Didier Digard as their new manager and performances were strong at the start of this campaign.

However, since back-to-back victories after a 4-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on the opening weekend of the campaign, the home team have suffered five successive defeats with the pressure growing on Digard. Their most recent outing saw them defeated by Stade Rennais by a goal to nil last weekend.

MONTPELLIER PREVIEW: NEW MANAGER BOUNCE NEEDED

Montpellier Herault begin the weekend’s round of fixtures sitting at the bottom-of-the-table. The home team have managed just one win in their opening eight matches of the campaign so far this season. They have conceded 29 goals in their nine matches so far this season as they come into this one on the back of a 3-0 defeat at home to Toulouse.

Montpellier decided to sack Armenian coach Michel Der Zakarian after their 5-0 loss to Olympique de Marseille a couple of weeks ago with his replacement, former Ivory Coast boss Jean-Louis Gasset, starting his reign badly. There is a possibility they actually soon become detached at the bottom.

LE HAVRE TEAM NEWS: SEVERAL ISSUES

Le Havre have several absentees for this weekend’s visit of Montpellier and that includes a couple of suspensions as well as several injury concerns.

LE HAVRE VS MONTPELLIER PREDICTION

The bottom two teams in Ligue 1 have conceded 49 goals between them so far this season and they have both failed to score a goal per game on average as two of just three teams, along with Saint-Etienne, yet to hit double figures. Both sides will seek to batten down the hatches as they try to avoid another fairly embarrassing defeat and condemn themselves further so a low-scoring affair seems most likely for this one at Stade Oceane.

LE HAVRE VS MONTPELLIER TIP: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
