BREST PREVIEW: STEADY BREST
Former Sunderland player Eric Roy led one of the smallest budgets in Ligue 1, Stade Brest, to the top three and the UEFA Champions League spots last season. They have begun their UEFA Champions League campaign with victories against Sturm Graz and Red Bull Salzburg as well as a draw against Bayer Leverkusen.
The home team have also improved quite a lot in Ligue 1, too. They come into this one on the back of a 2-1 win away at high-flying Stade de Reims last weekend and that means they have now suffered just one defeat in their last eight matches across all competitions since losing to Paris Saint-Germain after the September international break.
NICE PREVIEW: NICE PLAYING NASTY
Former Lens boss Franck Haise arrived down on the south coast of France this summer and has tried but, as yet, failed to efficiently and effectively implement his style of football at the Allianz Riviera. However, Nice have been much-improved of late and they come into this one on the back of a famous result against Monaco.
In the Derby de la Cote d’Azur, Nice fell behind to Monaco early on before equalising via Evann Guessand in first-half stoppage-time. Monaco defender Vanderson was then sent off before Gaetan Laborde completed the turnaround in the second-half. They are now unbeaten in their last five matches in Ligue 1.
BREST TEAM NEWS: SEVERAL ABSENTEES
Stade Brest have been dealing with several recurring injury concerns and Romain Del Castillo is sidelined with Abdallah Sima also missing due to a hamstring injury, too.
They also have a couple of absentees due to concussion for Brest with former Newcastle United defender Massadio Haidara missing alongside Luck Zogbe.

UNAVAILABLE: Haidara (Concussion), Zogbe (Concussion), Del Castillo (Injured), Sima (Injured)

BREST VS NICE PREDICTION
Towards the end of last season as Brest were trying to secure their historic third placed finish and overachievement, things began to get a bit chaotic and that has continued into this season but, as mentioned, they have ironed out the results to push up the table. Nice have an abundance of quality in their side and were on the positive end of a close contest last week. Both teams scoring would appear a good bet for this one.
