THE LOWDOWN
ITALY
- A second successive three nil triumph for Italy in their second Group A fixture against Switzerland, meant that the Azzurri were the first country to officially book their place in the knockout stage with six points from two matches.
- Manuel Locatelli scored twice, whilst Ciro Immobile continued his good start to the tournament by getting on the scoresheet once again.
- Italy are likely to be without captain Giorgio Chiellini for their final Group A fixture, after he was forced off vs Switzerland with a thigh injury and substitute Francesco Acerbi may be in line to replace him.
WALES
- Wales’ crucial 2-0 triumph over Turkey leaves them on the brink of qualification into the round of 16, with four points accrued from their two Group A games thus far.
- Despite missing a penalty, talismanic Gareth Bale put in an inspired performance for Robert Page’s side, assisting both goals first for Aaron Ramsey and then for Connor Roberts in the final minute of injury time.
- Page may be tempted to set up more conservatively against Italy with Ethan Ampadu in with a chance of starting, although it would be no surprise if Wales once again line up unchanged with no injuries having been reported from the Welsh camp.

- Italy won each of their previous three competitive matches against Wales which were played in Italy – they scored four goals on each occasion (4-0, 4-0, 4-1) – Italy to score four goals and win the match
- Italy have kept five clean sheets in their last six EURO final tournament group stage matches – Italy to keep a clean sheet
- Ciro Immobile has scored in each of Italy’s last three international matches – Ciro Immobile to score anytime

THE PREDICTION
If Wales were to pull off a shock victory here, they would finish as Group A winners and such an achievement stands as good motivation for them in this match. However, Italy are a huge level up in quality compared to the opposition Wales have faced so far, with Roberto Mancini’s men having been arguably the most impressive team at EURO 2020 so far. Whilst the Dragons will no doubt prove far tougher opponents than Turkey or Switzerland, the superior all-round ability of this Italian side should see them secure a third straight Group A victory in this one.
