Turkey 0-3 Italy match report
Italy got their EURO 2020 campaign off to a flying start with an impressive 3-0 win over Turkey in Rome. After a somewhat cautious and cagey first half where Italy were clearly the better team, they stepped up a notch in the second half to ease to a comprehensive win. With a solid defensive rearguard laying the foundation with a clean sheet, the front three along with the inspired Leonardo Spinazzola down the left caused the Turkish defence all kinds of problems.
They need a touch of fortune to break the deadlock with Merih Demiral diverting Berardi’s cross into his own net, but Immobile and Insigne grabbed a second and third to put the game to bed. Italy have laid a marker down here to show they mean business at EURO 2020.
