THE TEAM NEWS
ROMANIA
- Romania are in second place on goal difference in Group F and would close the gap on leaders Spain to two points if they pull off a shock victory on Thursday.
- Alexandru Chipciu is suspended after his sending off in the 4-0 win in Malta so Romario Benzar could start at right-back following his recall to the squad.
- There will be a change in the opposite full-back position as well after left-back Nicusor Bancu pulled out of the squad due to injury, with uncapped Florin Stefan called up in his place.
Predicted line-up (4-1-2-1-2): Tatarusanu; Benzar, Chiriches, Nedelcearu, Stefan; Marin; Deac, Maxim; Hagi; Keseru, Puscas
Unavailable: Chipciu (Suspended), Bancu (Injured)

SPAIN
- Spain have collected maximum points from their first four qualifiers but coach Luis Enrique resigned in June due to personal reasons, with his assistant Robert Moreno taking over.
- Moreno has promoted a number of players from the European Championship-winning under-21 team, including Unai Nunez, Dani Ceballos, Fabian Ruiz and Mikel Oyarzabal, while midfielder Thiago Alcantara has been recalled.
- David de Gea and Kepa will tussle for the goalkeeper's jersey while at the other end, it is between Rodrigo and Paco Alcacer for the central striker role with Alvaro Morata out injured.
Predicted line-up (4-3-3): De Gea; Dani Carvajal, Sergio Ramos, Llorente, Alba; Busquets, Rodri Hernandez, Fabian Ruiz; Suso, Paco Alcacer, Mikel Oyarzabal
Unavailable: Morata (Injured), Marco Asensio (Injured), Isco (Injured), Inigo Martinez (Injured)

THE PREDICTION
Romania are unbeaten in their last seven competitive fixtures on home soil and Spain have never won in six visits to the country, so this is certainly not a foregone conclusion. Contra's side have also scored in all four of their qualifiers in this campaign, so consider both teams to score.
