THE LOWDOWN

WOLVES

  • Wolves come into this match on the back of a hard-fought 0-1 victory away to Brighton courtesy of a goal from centre-back Romain Saiss, ending a run of four successive league games without a win
  • Following an injury sustained in the warm-up at Brighton, left-back Rayan Ait Nouri was replaced in the starting line-up by Fernando Marcal and isn’t expected to recover in time for this match and Wolves will also be without Hwang Hee-chan due to a hamstring injury, although striker Raul Jimenez does return from suspension.

CHELSEA

  • Despite peppering the Everton goal in midweek, Chelsea were left frustrated and forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against the Toffees, a result which saw them lose two points worth of ground on both Man City and Liverpool.
  • Positive Covid-19 tests ruled strikers Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner out of the Everton match along with Callum Hudson-Odoi and all three will miss out again here, whilst Ben Chilwell remains absent and both Jorginho and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are big injury doubts.

THE PREDICTION

Chelsea find themselves under real pressure now in terms of their Premier League title challenge following the drawing of points in midweek. Most worrying was their failure to convert their numerous opportunities in front of goal and such a lack of cutting edge doesn’t bode well for them against a Wolves side notoriously strong defensively. The hosts have conceded just twice across their last six Premier League games and Thomas Tuchel’s men could be set for a frustrating afternoon. Regardless of who comes out on top, under 2.5 goals scored is expected for what would be the seventh straight Premier League fixture involving Wolves.

Tip: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
