THE LOWDOWN
WATFORD
- Watford’s clash away at Burnley was postponed for the second time this season, on this occasion due to the Clarets being unable to field a side due to injuries and Covid-19 cases.
- The Hornets remain without Adam Masina, Imran Louza and William Troost-Ekong through international duty, whilst Ismaila Sarr remains absent, however Ben Foster made his return between the sticks against Newcastle and should line up in goal again here.
NORWICH
- Norwich ended a six-match losing run last time out, beating Everton 2-1 which lifted them off the bottom of the Premier League table and victory here would take them out of the bottom three, leapfrogging Watford in the process.
- Goalkeeper Tim Krul will miss out due to a shoulder injury, which means Angus Gunn is likely to make his third Premier League appearance of the season, however in better news for head coach Dean Smith, full-backs Max Aarons and Brandon Williams are both expected to be fit for the trip to Vicarage Road.

THE PREDICTION
The stakes are extremely high in this one with both Watford and Norwich knowing that they simply cannot afford to sacrifice three points to the opposition when taking into account how tight the battle is to stay out of those relegation places. This should lead to a tension-filled affair in Hertfordshire as each team prioritises a solid defensive foundation that makes them extremely difficult to break down. Watford keeper Ben Foster openly stated in an interview following his side’s 1-1 draw away at Newcastle last weekend that the key in these ‘relegation six-pointers’ is not to lose the game first and foremost. It would therefore, be no surprise if Watford and Norwich end up cancelling each other out here, with the match ultimately ending in a draw.
