THE LOWDOWN

TOTTENHAM

Tottenham remain unbeaten in the Premier League this season having twice fought from behind to claim a point in last weekend's North London Derby, with Heung-Min Son the hero of the hour with two clinical finishes from the South Korean.

Spurs will be looking to turn the tide in this particular rivalry having won just one of the last 22 competitive meetings between the two sides.

LIVERPOOL

Liverpool are also unbeaten this season and that includes all competitions, with Jurgen Klopp's men progressing in the Carabao Cup with a come-from-behind victory over Leicester on Wednesday.

The Reds are still vulnerable at the back having kept just one clean sheet in their eight games in all competitions this season, but there are no problems going forward as they have scored three goals in each of their last five competitive fixtures.

THE TEAM NEWS

TOTTENHAM

James Maddison and Heung-Min Son have both come through training but still need to be checked, while summer signing Brennan Johnson will definitely miss out with a thigh injury.

Johnson's absence could pave the way for a return to the starting line-up for Richarlison, with Son moving back out to the left wing.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Bissouma; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Richarlison

UNAVAILABLE: Whiteman (Injured), Sessegnon (Injured), Perisic (Injured), Bentancur (Injured), Gil (Injured), Johnson (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Lo Celso (Injured), Maddison (Injured), Son (Injured)

LIVERPOOL

Joe Gomez has been passed fit after missing out midweek but may end up losing his place anyway as Trent Alexander-Arnold has returned to training and is likely to start.

Thiago Alcantara remains out, and he is joined by fellow midfielder Stefan Bajcetic, who suffered a minor setback in the Carabao Cup.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Jones; Salah, Nunez, Diaz

UNAVAILABLE: Bajcetic (Injured), Thiago (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Alexander-Arnold (Fitness)

THE PREDICTION

Despite the fact Tottenham have made an excellent start to the season, and are yet to taste defeat in the Premier League, they have a simply horrendous head-to-head record with Liverpool having beaten the Merseysiders just once in the last ten years. Whether they manage to break that duck here remains to be seen, but what does seem likely is plenty of goals as there is an abundance of attacking talent on show. Liverpool's last seven games in all competitions have featured three goals or more, and this one is likely to be no different.
