THE LOWDOWN

TOTTENHAM

  • Tottenham outstanding form combined with North London rivals Arsenal dropping points have seen Antonio Conte’s side break into the Champions League places and accrue a three-point lead over the Gunners ahead of this match.
  • Both Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga remain absent, whilst wing-back Matt Doherty has been ruled out for the season after being forced off against Aston Villa most recently through injury, with Sergio Reguilon set to deputise if required.

BRIGHTON

  • Brighton shocked everyone last weekend by beating Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, ending a run of seven league games without a win through goals from Leandro Trossard and Enock Mwepu.
  • Although Graham Potter is known for his constant tinkering of the Seagulls’ starting line-up, it would be no surprise to see him name an unchanged side with only Shane Duffy and Jakob Moder confirmed absentees against Spurs.

THE TEAM NEWS

PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Emerson, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Doherty; Kulusevski, Son; Kane

UNAVAILABLE: Doherty (Injured), Skipp (Injured), Tanganga (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

BRIGHTON

PREDICTED XI (3-5-2): Sanchez; Veltman, Dunk, Cucurella; Gross, Mwepu, Bissouma, Caicedo, Trossard; Mac Allister, Welbeck

UNAVAILABLE: Duffy (Injured), Moder (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Alzate (Illness)

THE PREDICTION

Although Brighton’s win over Arsenal will have given them a newfound confidence ahead of their second successive trip to North London, they face a Tottenham side in outstanding form with momentum behind them in spades following a run of four consecutive victories. Most impressive from a Spurs perspective has been their attacking potency, having scored 14 goals across those four matches with the trio of Dejan Kulusevski, Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son having formed an outstanding kinship, the latter off the back of a hat-trick against Aston Villa. When taking into account the recent performances of Tottenham, it’s hard not to see them once again dominating proceedings and as was the case in their FA Cup win over Brighton they are expected to triumph by at least two clear goals.

Tip: TOTTENHAM TO WIN WITH -1 HANDICAP
