THE LOWDOWN
SOUTHAMPTON
- Southampton have never started the season well under Ralph Hasenhuttl and that trend continued last weekend with a resounding 4-1 defeat to Spurs, despite the fact the Saints took an early lead in the match.
- Nathan Tella will not feature with a loan move away from the club imminent, while Hasenhuttl has told the press that Lyanco hasn’t trained this week with a knee injury so he is unlikely to feature once more.
LEEDS UTD
- A new-look Leeds outfit came from behind to defeat Wolves in their Premier League opener last weekend and that has given fans cause for early optimism following the summer departures of key men Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha.
- Liam Cooper, Adam Forshaw and new signing Luis Sinisterra are all back in training and could see minutes here, while Dan James is available following suspension and will start from the bench.

THE PREDICTION
Southampton were handily beaten by Spurs last week but Hasenhuttl has a knack for getting a tune out of his players following a negative result, and it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see them turn in a much-improved display here. Leeds boss Jesse Marsch, meanwhile, appears to have a set of players who believe in his philosophy and their opening weekend victory over Wolves will certainly breed confidence. There are vulnerabilities in both defence though, so both teams scoring looks like a smart play in this one.
