THE LOWDOWN
SOUTHAMPTON
- Southampton were unable to take advantage of being against ten-men for the best part of an hour at Old Trafford on Sunday, drawing 0-0 against Man Utd, which keeps them bottom of the table.
- Ainsley Maitland-Niles missed the match with a knock and is doubtful again here, but it would be no surprise if the hosts opt for the same starting XI as the one fielded at the weekend.
BRENTFORD
- After conceding in the opening minute at Goodison Park, Brentford could not get back on level terms against Everton, falling to a first Premier League defeat since the World Cup break
- Nothing has changed in terms of injuries, but Thomas Frank could opt for a couple of changes with the likes of Josh Dasilva and Yoane Wissa all pushing for starting births.

THE PREDICTION
Brentford had their opportunities to peg back Everton, but were wasteful in front of goal. A similar lack of conviction against a Southampton side who have kept three clean sheets in their last four league games under Ruben Selles would see a similar result. When you also consider that all four of those fixtures saw under 2.5 goals scored over 90 minutes, not to mention the Saints’ lack of potency going forward, backing under 2.5 goals in this one appears very much the sensible move.
TIP: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
