THE TEAM NEWS
NORWICH
Predicted line-up (4-2-3-1): Krul; Aarons, Godfrey, Hanley, Lewis; Trybull, McLean; Buendia, Stiepermann, Cantwell; Pukki
Unavailable: Thompson (Injured), Zimmermann (Injured), Tettey (Injured), Drmic (Injured), Klose (Injured), Hernandez (Injured)
Doubtful: McLean (Injured), Amadou (Injured)
- Norwich endured a tough opener as they found themselves 4-0 down at half-time to Liverpool but they responded well in the second half.
- Boss Daniel Farke will take plenty of positives from that second half display as they look to build on that in front of their own fans.
- If Timm Klose recovers from injury in time, Farke may be tempted to bring the Swiss international in to shore up the defence.
NEWCASTLE
Predicted line-up (5-3-2): Dubravka; Javi Manquillo, Lascelles, Schar, Dummett, Ritchie; Hayden, Longstaff, Shelvey; Almiron, Joelinton
Unavailable: Colback (Injured), Lejeune (Injured), Gayle (Injured), Atsu (Injured), Carroll (Injured), Yedlin (Injured)
Doubtful: Shelvey (Injured), Gayle (Injured), Saint-Maximin (Injured)
- Newcastle slipped to a narrow defeat at home to Arsenal in their opener but they will target this match as one they must get a result from.
- Shelvey came off in that match with a slight knock and he is rated doubtful here so Bruce may be tempted to throw another forward in.
- Summer signing Saint-Maximin came off the bench in that game and looked dangerous so he is a strong candidate to come into the side.
THE PREDICTION
This already has the feel of a relegation six-pointer in many ways with both of these teams expected to be embroiled in a survival fight. Norwich showed plenty of heart and character in the second half against Liverpool and they can carry that into this game where they should at least avoid defeat.
