THE LOWDOWN

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Following the appointment of former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Al Ittihad manager Nuno Espirito Santo, there was an immediate improvement in the form of Nottingham Forest but they have since drifted quite significantly as they battle against the bottom three and the relegation places with the looming possibility of a points deduction.

Forest come into this one on the back of a 3-2 defeat at home to Newcastle United which means they have managed to collect just one point in their last four Premier League matches. They are winless in eight matches inside 90 minutes across all competitions in 2024, including four matches against League One and Championship opposition, respectively.

WEST HAM

David Moyes has West Ham United in he top-half of the Premier League and preparing for the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League next month but the pressure is actually growing on the Scotsman with supporters growing further frustrated and that seeping into anger after their humiliation at the hands of Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

The Hammers were thrashed 6-0 by their capital city rivals and that means they have maintained a winless run in 2024 since closing out 2023 with back-to-back 2-0 victories over Manchester United and the aforementioned Gunners in the reverse fixture. They are now winless in their last seven matches across all competitions.

THE PREDICTION

Nuno Espirito Santo is not under any pressure for his job at Nottingham Forest but if it becomes clear that the hosts are truly drifting into the danger zone then Evangelos Marinakis, who has a reputation for being trigger happy, may not hesitate to make a change. They face a West Ham side whereby their manager is also under pressure, albeit perhaps not pressure put on by the hierarchy of the club. Both teams need a win and will sense an opportunity here so both teams scoring on the afternoon appears likely.

TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
