THE LOWDOWN

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Steve Cooper is under mounting pressure as Nottingham Forest endure a run of one win in nine.

Despite Lewis Dunk's straight red card against Brighton & Hove Albion, Forest suffered a 3-2 loss, lacking the threat to capitalise on playing against ten men for around 30 minutes.

Consecutive 3-2 losses have highlighted defensive issues, with Forest netting twice in four of their last five games but only managing four points out of a possible 15.

EVERTON

Despite their fans' passionate protests against the club's ten-point deduction, Sean Dyche's team couldn't mirror the ruthlessness of the punishment on the field as they suffered a sucker punch 3-0 loss to Man Utd, marked by Alejandro Garnacho's outrageous bicycle goal.

The Everton fanbase is largely behind Dyche though, and the club’s hierarchy agree with reports indicating he is poised to receive a new contract offer.

THE TEAM NEWS

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Cooper faces challenges in attack as his main goal-scoring threat Taiwo Awoniyi underwent groin surgery, keeping the Nigerian forward out heading into the festive season.

Divock Origi is yet to score or even start for Forest this season, yet his impressive track record against Everton offers a unique option alongside Callum Hudson-Odoi and Chris Wood.

Ibrahim Sangare's severe illness upon his return from Ivory Coast makes his immediate return unlikely, while Felipe is not yet ready for a return.

PREDICTED XI (4-1-4-1): Vlachodimos; Aina, Niakhate, Murillo, Toffolo; Mangala; Gibbs-White, Danilo, Domiguez, Elanga; Wood

UNAVAILABLE: Felipe (Injured), Awoniyi (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Sangare (Illness)

EVERTON

Summer addition Beto was sidelined in the previous match due to a minor knee injury, but has resumed training and could feature in the upcoming game against Steve Cooper's team with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s availability under assessment due to muscle tightness.

Seamus Coleman made a return from a long-term knee injury, being named on the bench in the previous game and is under consideration for selection by Dyche.

Amadou Onana is unlikely to return from a calf issue that kept him out against United. Dele (groin) and André Gomes (calf) continue to be sidelined for the Toffees.

PREDICTED XI (4-4-1-1): Pickford; Coleman, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Harrison, Garner, Gueye, McNeil; Doucoure; Beto

UNAVAILABLE: Gomes (Injured), Dele (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Calvert-Lewin (Fitness), Onana (Fitness)

THE PREDICTION

Forest need to address defensive issues when facing an Everton side that is showing strong away performances this season. Forest will feel the absence of Awoniyi's threat in attack, and if Everton play with the same tempo we saw before the international break, we should see another victory on the road for Dyche’s men.

BETTING TIP: EVERTON TO WIN
