THE LOWDOWN
NOTTINGHAM FOREST
- Nottingham Forest were making good progress prior to the World Cup but their resounding 3-0 defeat to an in-form Man Utd on Tuesday keeps them in the relegation zone.
- Jesse Lingard was withdrawn early in the second half against his former club and is a doubt to feature here, but Steve Cooper will give him as long as possible to recover.
CHELSEA
- After a slump of three straight defeats in the Premier League before the World Cup, Chelsea returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Tuesday with Kai Havertz and Mason Mount on the scoresheet.
- The win did not come without a cost though as Reece James – on his return from injury – was forced off with a recurrence of the problem and the right-back now faces a further month on the sidelines.

THE PREDICTION
After their quite severe slump in form before the World Cup, Chelsea can count themselves somewhat fortunate that they faced Bournemouth and now Nottingham Forest – two of the promoted sides – in their first two fixtures upon the Premier League's return. Chelsea may be beset by a few injuries but they possess enough strength in depth to mitigate for that and if their attacking players operate as cohesively as they did against Bournemouth, they should be running away with this one,
TIP: CHELSEA TO WIN
