THE LOWDOWN
NORWICH
- Dean Smith suffered a first defeat as Norwich City head coach last time out, losing 3-0 to Tottenham and things don’t get any easier for the former Aston Villa boss, as his side hosts Man Utd here at Carrow Road.
- Left-back Brandon Williams is ineligible to play against his parent club with Dimitris Giannoulis set to replace him in the starting line-up, whilst it appears as if Mathias Normann will not recover in time for the weekend.
MAN UTD
- Ralph Rangnick’s interim tenure as Man Utd manager got off to the ideal start this past Sunday as the Red Devils defeated Crystal Palace by a goal to nil at Old Trafford and the German took the opportunity to rest all of his key players in midweek with United in Champions League group stage action, but having already qualified for the round of 16.
- Rangnick could be afforded a further boost by the potential returns of both striker Edinson Cavani and centre-back Raphael Varane to the matchday squad following injury, although right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a doubt following a knock suffered in midweek.

THE PREDICTION
Whilst Man Utd were wasteful in front of goal against Crystal Palace, they did more than enough to earn the three points and the early signs looked very good under the command of Rangnick. The high pressing style he has enforced upon the United players will see Norwich put under heavy pressure in their own half and the Canaries defence will have to be at the very best both with and without the ball. The pace of Man Utd going forward, combined with the all-round ability of Cristiano Ronaldo leading the line should see the visitors fashion plenty of chances and whilst Norwich have shown an upturn in fortunes under Dean Smith particularly at Carrow Road, the quality Man Utd possess within their squad should see them overcome the hosts and secure a third consecutive Premier League win.
Tip: MAN UTD TO WIN
