THE LOWDOWN
NORWICH
- Norwich have spent their Christmas bottom of the Premier League and are currently three points adrift of safety having not won in their last five matches, making this a big game from their point of view.
- Head coach Dean Smith has Christos Tzolis, Pierre Lees-Melou and Josh Sargent available again after their recovery from COVID-19.
ARSENAL
- Arsenal’s 1-4 thrashing of Leeds Utd last time out in the Premier League was their fourth straight league win and was backed up in midweek by a 5-1 Carabao Cup win over Sunderland.
- Right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu is a slight doubt after being subbed off due to a knock against Leeds, whilst Covid-19 will see Albert Sambi-Lokonga, Calum Chambers and Pablo Mari sidelined for the trip to Norwich.

THE PREDICTION
Mikel Arteta’s young Arsenal side are riding the crest of a wave and come into this one full of confidence both from a defensive and attacking perspective. Norwich in contrast, are struggling with the pressure of needing to pick up points and have no choice, but to try and take the fight to the Gunners rather than sit back and likely be picked apart. However, Arsenal should dominate possession and look to dictate play on their terms. With significant strength-in-depth also at the visitors’ disposal, emphasised by the likelihood that in-form midfielder Emile Smith-Rowe cannot break into the starting line-up, Arsenal are expected to have too much for Norwich and ultimately pick up the three points at Carrow Road.
