THE LOWDOWN
NEWCASTLE
- Having won each of their last six home Premier League matches and coming off the back of a resounding 0-3 win away at Norwich, Newcastle have every right to feel confident about their chances heading into arguably their toughest test since Eddie Howe’s appointed as manager.
- Howe could receive a huge boost going into this one should Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson be passed fit, with both edging closer towards a return to action following injury lay-offs, although the chances of them featuring are very slim.
LIVERPOOL
- Liverpool turn their attention back to the Premier League title race after sealing a 2-0 aggregate lead against Villarreal in their midweek Champions League semi-final first-leg at Anfield.
- Naby Keita could well come back into the starting line-up for this one, as could Diogo Jota and Joel Matip with all three left on the bench against Villarreal as the Reds look to shuffle their pack.

LIVERPOOL

THE PREDICTION
Newcastle’s magnificent recent home run comes under its biggest threat yet when taking into account the sensational long-term form of Liverpool. The depth that Jurgen Klopp now possesses within his squad makes playing in the Champions League just three days previous to this match not as much of a factor and his side are still expected to dominate here. Whilst Newcastle will put up a strong fight in front of their own fans and could well grab a goal against such a difficult defence to break down, Liverpool should still wind up victorious in the North East.
Tip: LIVERPOOL TO WIN
