THE LOWDOWN

NEWCASTLE

  • Newcastle are becoming something of a draw specialist as their goalless encounter with Crystal Palace last time out was their fourth stalemate in their last five Premier League games.
  • Eddie Howe gave little away in his press conference so it remains to be seen whether Bruno Guimaraes, Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson are fit enough to be included in the matchday squad.

BOURNEMOUTH

  • Bournemouth produced a huge turnaround in their last Premier League fixture, coming from two goals down against fellow promoted side Nottingham Forest to clinch all three points courtesy of a late Jaidon Anthony winner.
  • David Brooks has suffered a setback in his recovery and will not feature here, but in better news Junior Stanislas has been back in training for the Cherries and has a chance of making the squad.

THE PREDICTION

Newcastle have undoubtedly been tough to beat this season with their only Premier League defeat coming against Liverpool in what was the last kick of the game, but Eddie Howe will be eager to convert draws into wins and he will be confident of his men doing just that here. Bournemouth are actually on the same number of points as the hosts, but given the contrast in quality in their respective squads, you would expect there to be a significant difference in their tallies come the end of the season. With recent signing Alexander Isak having made a bright start at the club and hungry for more goals, we expect Newcastle to win this fairly comfortably.

TIP: NEWCASTLE TO WIN
