THE TEAM NEWS

MAN UTD

Lisandro Martinez is a doubt for this weekend’s clash with West Ham United as he was substituted with a slight knock against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday evening. Erik ten Hag has confirmed that decision and substitution was only ‘precautionary’, though.

England international Mason Mount is expected to return to the first-team at some stage this season but he has suffered another injury setback so is still unavailable. Sofyan Amrabat has returned, though, following Morocco’s defeat to South Africa at AFCON.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Onana; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Mainoo, Casemiro; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund

UNAVAILABLE: Malacia (Injured), Mount (Injured), Martial (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Lindelof (Injured), Martinez (Injured), Wan-Bissaka (Injured)

WEST HAM

There were no new signings for David Moyes on Thursday but on a more positive note, The Hammers also reported no fresh injury concerns after their draw with Bournemouth. Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio are not yet available for selection.

The Irons are also in the dark over the availability and futures of Said Benrahma, who is suspended, and Pablo Fornals with both players the subject of collapsed transfers to Lyon and Real Betis respectively with both clubs reportedly launching appeals to get the deals eventually concluded.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-2-1): Areola; Coufal, Zouma, Mavropanos, Emerson; Phillips, Soucek, Alvarez; Ward-Prowse, Kudus; Bowen

UNAVAILABLE: Paqueta (Injured), Benrahma (Suspended), Antonio (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Ageurd (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Manchester United have played 32 matches across all competitions so far this season but they have managed to win just four goals by a margin of more than one goal. Those wins have come against League One Wigan Athletic, League Two Newport County, Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup and Everton in the Premier League. They face a West Ham United side that are sixth in the Premier League ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures, despite being booed off for drawing 1-1 with in-form Bournemouth in midweek. Both teams scoring looks a good bet for this one at Old Trafford.

TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
