MAN UTD PREVIEW: SAME OLD UNITED
Manchester United played generally well last weekend but were eventually held to a goalless draw at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace. The Red Devils have managed two victories in their opening five matches of the season and have been as underwhelming as they have been throughout the Erik ten Hag era.
They have managed to score just five goals so far this season with only three teams managing fewer than that as we head through the campaign. They have scored just 120 goals in 81 league games since the appointment of Ten Hag with performances never really ever seeming to be consistently improving.
TOTTENHAM PREVIEW: MUCH-NEEDED WIN
There is a bit more cohesion and a bit more of an idea shown with the way in which Tottenham Hotspur want to play but the lack of incision in the final third has often meant they have been quite underwhelming in terms of their results over the last five months with five wins in 15 league games before a much-needed victory last weekend.
In a London derby against Brentford at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Cameroonian international put the Bees ahead after just 22 seconds with a spectacular strike but Spurs managed to strike back well to win the game with a first Spurs goal for Dominic Solanke with James Maddison and Brennan Johnson also getting on the scoresheet.
MAN UTD TEAM NEWS: NO FRESH KNOCKS
After their 1-1 draw with Twente in the UEFA Europa League in midweek, Erik ten Hag confirmed there were no knocks so there are, presumably, no fresh injury concerns for the Dutchman to deal with ahead of this one.
In fact, England midfielder Mason Mount is back fit and available and featured against the Eredivisie outfit. They do remain without defensive quartet Leny Yoro, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Onana; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Martinez, Diogo Dalot; Mainoo, Eriksen; Diallo, Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho; Zirkzee
UNAVAILABLE: Yoro (Injured), Lindelof (Injured), Shaw (Injured), Malacia (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE:
TOTTENHAM TEAM NEWS: CHANCE FOR SON
Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that club captain Son Heung-min wants to train on the day before the game and the Australian has said that he will be given 'every chance' to prove his fitness and feature at Old Trafford.
Fellow forwards Wilson Odobert and Richarlison are both expected to continue to be unavailable for this weekend with Richarlison not yet seen on grass, in comparison to Odobert.
PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Pedro Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bentancur, Sarr; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Solanke
UNAVAILABLE: Odobert (Injured), Richarlison (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE: Son (Injured)
MAN UTD VS TOTTENHAM PREDICTION
Manchester United are attempting to evolve with the same management and basically the same players that have underperformed in the league in the last year or so. However, some will believe there have been improvements, albeit any that there have been have been nominal. Spurs, though, have never and remain a team you cannot trust to put a fragile and vulnerable side to the sword. With the lack of goals in United games and lack of consistent efficiency for Spurs, a low-scoring affair seems likely.
MAN UTD VS TOTTENHAM TIP: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
