THE LOWDOWN
MAN UTD
- Man Utd will be desperate to bounce back in the Premier League after falling to a shock 0-1 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa last time out, a loss compounded by the fact that Bruno Fernandes missed a last-gasp penalty to salvage a draw.
- Captain Harry Maguire is expected to miss out here due to a calf injury with Victor Lindelof likely to partner Raphael Varane in central defence, whilst left-back Luke Shaw faces a race against time to be fit enough for a starting birth as he is suffering with a shoulder injury as well as an illness.
EVERTON
- Everton currently sit level on points with Man Utd inside the Premier League’s top five and victory here would take them above the Red Devils.
- The Toffees have a number of injury worries to key players with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison, Andre Gomes and Seamus Coleman all missing out, while Alex Iwobi has picked up a niggle and is touch and go to feature.

THE PREDICTION
Man Utd were fortunate that other teams above them in the Premier League table dropped points at the weekend and must get back to winning ways here at Old Trafford. Whilst their defensive injury worries could see their backline vulnerable against Everton, the firepower of the hosts should make up for this, with players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Mason Greenwood determined to a play their part and midfielder Bruno Fernandes desperate to make up for his penalty miss against Aston Villa with a star performance here. The visitors will prove a tough nut to crack, however, United should ultimately wind up too strong for Rafa Benitez’s side in this one provided they are not overly wasteful in front of goal, so back Man Utd to pick up three points.
