THE LOWDOWN
MAN UTD
- A second successive draw for Man Utd this past weekend in the Premier League, this time at Old Trafford has unsurprisingly drawn the ire of United fans after they were pegged back by Southampton in the second half, meaning that Ralph Rangnick’s side remain outside the top four.
- After scoring his first Premier League goal at Old Trafford against the Saints, Jadon Sancho is likely to be afforded a third consecutive league start here, whilst Eric Bailly, Edinson Cavani and Nemanja Matic are all expected to be ruled out through injury.
BRIGHTON
- Brighton secured a valuable 0-2 win away to Watford last time out after having previously drawn their last three Premier League fixtures 1-1, the Seagulls having now not lost in their most recent seven top flight matches.
- Nothing has changed for Brighton on the injury front, meaning that they remain without both midfielder Enock Mwepu and winger Jeremy Sarmiento for the trip to Old Trafford.

THE PREDICTION
An ultra-attacking playstyle is understandably expected from Man Utd here when taking into account their recent poor results and the importance of them winning in order to leapfrog West Ham into those Champions League places. However, Brighton will not roll over and are likely create a number of opportunities themselves going forward against a far from convincing United defence. The visitors have netted at least once in each of their last nine games in all competitions and will go to Old Trafford knowing that a repeat of the levels shown against Watford by all the players would give them an excellent chance of accruing at least a point in this one. Ultimately, the shrewd move here is to back both teams to score.
