THE LOWDOWN
MAN CITY
- Man City head into this clash with Wolves on the back of five Premier League wins in succession, although they were beaten in midweek against RB Leipzig in what was essentially a Champions League group stage dead rubber from a City point of view.
- Both defender Nathan Ake and midfielder Phil Foden suffered knocks in Leipzig and both are big doubts for this match alongside Gabriel Jesus, who missed out entirely.
WOLVES
- Wolves gave absolutely everything last weekend as they held Liverpool right up until the 94th minute, before Divock Origi broke their hearts with a goal that condemned Bruno Lage’s side to a cruel defeat.
- Captain Conor Coady and full-back Rayan Ait Nouri look to have recovered in time for the trip to Manchester while Willy Boly has returned ahead of schedule and is set to also be part of the travelling squad.

THE PREDICTION
Whilst the game was of little consequence to Man City, RB Leipzig showed in the Champions League that Pep Guardiola’s side can be stopped. However, the expectation is that City respond strongly here in front of their own fans as they aim to keep hold of top spot in the table which they gained last weekend, so a long afternoon of defending is in prospect for Wolves. The visitors will pose a threat through Adama Traore’s searing pace on the counter-attack, however the match for the majority of it should be controlled by City and any result other than a comfortable home victory would be considered a big surprise when taking into account their current league form.
