THE LOWDOWN

LIVERPOOL

Liverpool have made a habit of falling behind in games this season and this past week has been a prime example of that, but they remain unbeaten in the Premier League after five games, with Jurgen Klopp's men two points behind leaders Man City.

The Reds' last two outings have seen identical patterns play out, as they went behind early to both Wolves (in the Premier League) and LASK (in the Europa League), only to win both games by scoring three goals in the second half.

WEST HAM

West Ham remain in a strong position in the table despite their 1-3 defeat to Premier League leaders Man City last weekend, a match that they were leading at half-time before succumbing to the reigning champions in the second half.

The Hammers - champions of the Europa Conference League last season - began their Europa League campaign with a come-from-behind victory in their clash with Serbian outfit TSC on Thursday.

THE TEAM NEWS

LIVERPOOL

Klopp made wholesale changes for Thursday's European tie but is likely to revert back to something resembling the XI against Wolves. That could mean starts for Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota in the front three, but Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz - despite both playing 90 minutes on Thursday - certainly have strong claims given their general performance levels.

Trent Alexander-Arnold could miss out again which would likely mean Joe Gomez filling in at right-back once more, while Virgil van Dijk makes his return from a domestic suspension. Ryan Gravenberch, meanwhile, was withdrawn against LASK, but Klopp has since confirmed that it was only cramp.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Jones; Salah, Gakpo, Jota

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE: Alexander-Arnold (Injured), Thiago (Injured)

WEST HAM

Jarrod Bowen was absent for Thursday's Europa League tie with a virus, but Moyes is hopeful he can recover in time for the visit of Liverpool on Sunday. Aaron Cresswell, meanwhile, is a doubt after feeling something in his hamstring against TSC.

Moyes will likely to revert to the side that started against Man CIty last weekend, but summer signing Mohammed Kudus could replace Bowen if that latter doesn't recover in time.

PREDICTED XI (4-1-4-1): Areola; Coufal, Zouma, Aguerd, Emerson; Soucek, Alvarez; Bowen, Ward-Prowse, Paqueta; Antonio

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE: Cresswell (Injured), Bowen (Illness)

THE PREDICTION

West Ham's tough fixture schedule continues bit they can certainly hold their head up high in the way they competed with Man City last weekend. They will also be buoyed by the fact that Liverpool have been slow starters this season, so there is nothing to say the Hammers can't find the net at Anfield. The hosts have proven time and time again that they have plenty of goals in them though, so expect a high-scoring affair here whatever the result.

TIP: OVER 2.5 GOALS
