THE TEAM NEWS

LIVERPOOL

Liverpool’s difficult few months with injuries remains the case as key players such as Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota are still unavailable for the Reds.

Curtis Jones has, though, returned to training recently so could be available for the visit of bottom-of-the-table opposition, whilst Andrew Robertson has been ‘cleared’ to train, too.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Kelleher; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Mac Allister, Endo, Gravenberch; Salah, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz

UNAVAILABLE: Alisson (Injured), Matip (Injured), Alexander-Arnold (Injured), Bajcetic (Injured), Thiago (Injured), Diogo Jota (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Robertson (Injured), Jones (Injured)

SHEFFIELD UTD

Chris Wilder has a long injury list but he could be boosted by the return of both Vinicius Souza and Ollie Arblaster, who both came off in the weekend’s 3-3 draw with Fulham at Bramall Lane due to ‘minor issues’.

The Blades do, though, still have to contend with the absences of George Baldock, Max Lowe and Rhys Norrington-Davies among others, as well as long-term injury issues for John Egan and Chris Basham.

PREDICTED XI (3-5-2): Grbic; Holgate, Ahmedhodzic, Robinson; Bogle, Vinicius Souza, Arblaster, Hamer, Osborn; McBurnie, Brereton Diaz

UNAVAILABLE: Egan (Injured), Basham (Injured), Baldock (Injured), Lowe (Injured), Norrington-Davies (Injured), Davies (Injured), Jebbison (Illness), Brewster (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Vinicius Souza (Injured), Arblaster (Injured), Archer (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

There is a possibility and a realistic chance that Liverpool view the visit of Sheffield United as a 'stat-padding exercise', for want of a less irritating phrase. However, padding the stats could well be pivotal for the Reds as the three-way title race could come down to goal difference against Manchester City and Arsenal. Sheffield United very nearly earned three points against Fulham but conceded twice late on to draw 3-3 and it is a question of when and not if they get related. A comfortable home win is to be expected.

TIP: LIVERPOOL TO WIN -2 HANDICAP
