THE LOWDOWN
LIVERPOOL
- Liverpool’s turbulent Premier League season continued with their defeat to league-leaders Arsenal last weekend but their 1-7 win against Rangers in the Champions League midweek has certainly improved the mood a little.
- Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold are key absentees for Jurgen Klopp but Andrew Robertson made an appearance from the bench against rangers and may displace Kostas Tsimikas at left-back if Jurgen Klopp deems him fit enough.
MAN CITY
- Man City’s pursuit of Arsenal at the top of the league is showing no signs of slowing down with Pep Guardiola’s men having scored ten goals in their last two Premier League games, and they now face last season’s title rivals Liverpool.
- John Stones, Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips are the only absentees with Guardiola confirming that Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden and Erlin Haaland are now free of the fatigue which saw them benched midweek.

THE PREDICTION
In recent seasons this has been a fixture with potential title ramifications for both teams, but Liverpool’s troubles this season have ensured that it is only the visitors who have that as a realistic target this time around. It seems only a matter of time until Pep Guardiola’s men reel in Arsenal at the top of the league, especially with frontman Haaland in irresistible form right now. However, despite the hosts’ struggles they are still scoring goals, and a midweek Mohamed Salah hat-trick will have done the Egyptian’s confidence the world of good. An entertaining game should ensue at Anfield then, with over 2.5 goals firmly on the cards.
TIP: OVER 2.5 GOALS
