THE LOWDOWN
LIVERPOOL
- Following their 4-0 thumping of Man Utd, Liverpool are aiming for a second victory over a bitter rival in the space of less than a week as they contest the Merseyside Derby with Everton.
- Only Roberto Firmino’s availability is currently unconfirmed for the Reds, with the Brazilian is set to face a late fitness test which will determine his involvement in this match.
EVERTON
- Whilst Everton remain out of the bottom three heading into this latest round of fixtures courtesy of a late Richarlison equaliser against Leicester in midweek, however they could kick off at Anfield having dropped into 18th-place depending on Burnley’s result against Wolves earlier in the day.
- Yerry Mina returned to the field on Wednesday and could be in line for a second successive start here ahead of Michael Keane, but the Toffees will not have striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin available.

THE PREDICTION
It’s so hard to see any side stopping Liverpool in the tracks at present, not least a team who haven’t won away from home in the Premier League since all the way back in August. However, anything can happen in a local derby and with the Toffees scrapping for their lives, Liverpool will need to be at their best. The visitors will surely prioritise keeping bodies behind the ball, maintaining a solid defensive shake and making themselves as difficult as possible to break down. However, Liverpool are simply too strong going forward and should eventually break through the Everton backline. Whilst this isn’t expected to be the hammering the Reds dealt to Man Utd, Jurgen Klopp’s side will surely do enough to pick up three points.
Tip: LIVERPOOL TO WIN
