THE LOWDOWN

LIVERPOOL

It was a tale of two halves for Liverpool last week as they came out impressively against Chelsea but tailed off in the second half and had to ultimately settle for a point.

It was looking like it could have been the Reds' day when Luis Diaz deservedly put Jurgen Klopp's side in front from Mo Salah's pinpoint through ball, not long before Salah had a goal ruled out for offside. Chelsea managed to stay in the game though, and levelled matters prior to the break through Axel Disasi, before Ben Chilwell had a goal disallowed of his own. Chelsea were the better team in the second half, but neither side were able land the killer blow.

BOURNEMOUTH

Last weekend saw Andoni Iraola witness his side rescue a point against West Ham in what was his first game in charge of Bournemouth.

In a lively encounter at the Vitality Stadium in which the woodwork was struck three times, Jarrod Bowen put West Ham ahead early in the second half, only for Cherries forward Dominic Solanke to equalise late on. Given the fact that both teams had chances throughout, a draw was probably a fair reflection of the contest.

THE TEAM NEWS

LIVERPOOL

Stefan Bajcetic and Thiago Alcantara are nearing a return to the first team but will not quite make it for this one, while Jurgen Klopp will consider using Curtis Jones and Darwin Nunez from the off here.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Jones; Salah, Nunez, Diaz

UNAVAILABLE: Bajcetic (Fitness), Thiago (Fitness)

QUESTIONABLE:

BOURNEMOUTH

The Cherries have seven players definitely missing through injury at the moment, which will become eight if Lloyd Kelly isn't deemed fit enough to travel with the squad. With his options limited, Andoni Iraola could opt for an unchanged starting line-up.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Neto; Aarons, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Kerkez; Billing, Rothwell; Brooks, Christie, Anthony; Solanke

UNAVAILABLE: Smith (Injured), Tavernier (Injured). Cook (Injured), Fredericks (Injured), Marcondes (Injured), Scott (Injured), Ouattara (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Kelly (Fitness)

THE PREDICTION

Bournemouth fans have bad memories of this fixture given the fact that Liverpool won 9-0 when the two sides met at Anfield almost a year ago to the day. New manager Andoni Iraola was able to take positives from last weekend's draw with West Ham though, and he will set his team up to be solid and compact here. Liverpool showed flashes of brilliance last week and are likely to improve upon that performance, and while this surely won't be as one-sided as last season's equivalent fixture, you'd expect the hosts to run out comfortable winners.
