THE LOWDOWN

LEICESTER

  • Leicester’s 6-2 thrashing at the hands of Tottenham last time out was a new low in what has been a horrendous season so far for the former Premier League champions and Brendan Rodgers appears to be hanging onto his job by a thread.
  • Illness could rule striker Patson Daka out of this game, whilst the biggest decision Rodgers has to make is whether to persist with underperforming goalkeeper Danny Ward, or give an opportunity to Daniel Iversen, who impressed so much in the Championship for Preston last season.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

  • Nottingham Forest make the short journey to Leicester on the back of consecutive three two defeats at home to fellow newly promoted sides Bournemouth and Fulham, thus extending their losing run in the Premier League to four games.
  • Defensively, Scott McKenna is doubtful for the hosts after leaving the Scotland camp early due to an injury, whilst on the attacking side of things, both Morgan Gibbs-White and Emmanuel Dennis could also miss out.

THE TEAM NEWS

LEICESTER

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Ward; Castagne, Evans, Faes, Justin; Tielemans, Ndidi, Dewsbury-Hall; Maddison, Vardy, Barnes

UNAVAILABLE: Bertrand (Injured), Pereira (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Daka (Illness)

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

PREDICTED XI (3-4-1-2): Henderson; Worrall, Cook, McKenna; Williams, Yates, Freuler, Lodi; Lingard; Johnson, Awoniyi

UNAVAILABLE: Richards (Injured) Niakhate (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: McKenna (Injured), Mangala (Injured), Gibbs-White (Injured), Dennis (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Two of the three worst defences in the Premier League lock horns in what already feels like a crunch encounter in terms of their prospects this season. Nottingham Forest have conceded 17 league goals already this season and Leicester are one of just two clubs to have shipped more with the Foxes currently averaging over three goals conceded per game. Clearly confidence is low among both backlines and when factoring in the attacking talent on both sides such as James Maddison for Leicester and Brennan Johnson for Forest, not to mention the importance of three points to each side, a high-scoring game is expected with chances being carved out at either end. The outcome itself could go either way, but the smart play would be to back both teams to score and over 2.5 goals across 90 minutes.

TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE AND OVER 2.5 GOALS
